Shayna Vidyanand (16 years of age) is an artist who started painting since the age of 10. She uses vivid and exuberant colors that bring out a unique perspective in her artwork. Her art is inspired from different places that she visits around the world and the surroundings that she sees every day. She has her own unique viewpoints and observations on the things that she sees which is expressed through her work.
Shayna studies art from multiple teachers assembling and learning different techniques. She mostly paints oil and acrylic on canvas and has recently started sketching. She loves to experiment with bright colors in her paintings.
Shayna decided to create an impact in society with her initial works of art. She had her first art show when she was 11 and sold her paintings to collect over $4000 that she donated to help provide for eye operations for needy kids. The process inspired her, and she now supports kids’ education and health with her artwork.
Shayna has won numerous national awards and her work has been published in different art journals. She has designed the cover of her schoolbook for two years with her own artwork. She sang in the Vivo chorus of the Young Women’s Choral Program of San Francisco and has performed in several concerts with her group.
